Carla Laemmle has Died

One of the last surviving actresses of the silent era, Carla Laemmle, has died aged 104. Ms Laemmle was the niece of Universal studios founder Carl Laemmle and had small roles in The Phantom of the Opera (1925) and Dracula (1931) in which she spoke the opening lines.

Following on from a previous post where we learned Carla Laemmle has an online prescense, I was delighted to find a blog by Eric Lindsay, another former Lugosi co-star.


Alongside Bela Lugosi, Eric Lindsay played Renfield in the 1951 British Dracula tour. He later went on to become a stage illusionist.
